Upcoming Yorkshire Festival Set for Fantastic Hull Finale.

Hull is to host the finale of Yorkshire Festival this summer with Place des Anges, “a playful and visual spectacle to enchant audiences of all ages.” The event has been coordinated by Yorkshire Festival and Hull UK City of Culture 2017, in association with Amy Johnson Festival. Taking place in Queens Gardens, Hull on 2 July, the event is currently being promoted with an advertising campaign coordinated by Media Agency Group’s specialist transport subdivision Transport Media.

For the next 12 weeks, visitors to Hull’s Paragon Station will be reminded of the event thanks to a new floor vinyl advertisement. The eye-catching ad provides a preview what attendees can expect to see at the special event which is free to attend but ticketed and with limited availability.

The large station advertisement is ideally placed, greeting those arriving into the city centre via train and bus. As Hull prepares to launch its City of Culture year in 2017, visitor numbers are expected to increase significantly in the coming months.

The Place des Anges celebrations are part of Yorkshire Festival’s 18 days of world class music, dance, theatre, visual art and outdoor performances. This fantastic finale is an awe-inspiring aerial spectace. ‘Angels’ are magically suspended above the Queens Gardens crowd before releasing white feathers which float across the sky, culminating in a fabulous feather firework display. Those wishing to attend are urged to register their interest at www.hull2017.co.uk to be notified when booking opens.

Managing Director of Transport Media’s parent company Media Agency Group, John Kehoe, said:

“Transport Media is delighted to be helping Yorkshire Festival 2016 to promote this upcoming spectacular event. Our ads will help spread news of the show to residents and visitors in Hull, with great ad space secured in Hull Station. Advertising in busy stations is a proven method of promoting cultural events to a busy urban audience, with high footfall guaranteed and a varied demographic to reach.”

The Yorkshire Festival – which takes place from June 16 – July 3 – is the UK’s newest international festival. It will build on the resounding success of the first edition in 2014 and promises world premieres and UK exclusives with spectacular outdoor performances as well as music, theatre, arts and dance from theatres to clubs.

Yorkshire Festival’s Artistic Director, Matt Burman, said:

“We are thrilled to be presenting Place des Anges as part of the epic, bold and game-changing Yorkshire Festival 2016. Expect the unexpected with world-class performances, UK and world premieres and exclusives, and even an attempt to break a world record. The Festival will reach the whole of our great, beautiful county across 18 days this June and July. Make sure you come and be part of it!”
