London cabs cause a stir in France

London cabs cause a stir in FranceTwo London cabs supplied by Transport Media caused parts of a busy French city to come a standstill after an appearance at an annual event hosted by the Pernod Ricard group.

The traditional cabs, fully liveried in an advert for their Beefeater brand were being transported back to England after a successful promotional appearance on the island of Les Embiez, but caused gridlock on the way back to England in Lyon where scores of people blocked the road in an attempt to catch a glimpse of the iconic British motors.

Steve Hale, Transport Media operations manager comments “I was driving one of the cabs back and what a welcome we received. A lot of the locals had never seen a London cab before. People on bikes were following us, there were horns beeping, it was crazy. The full Beefeater livery, under the street lights of Lyon proved a huge head turner and demonstrates the impact that taxi advertising can have.”

The annual event, hosted for suppliers and employees of Pernod Ricard, used cabs supplied by Transport Media as a focal point for a London themed party held on the exotic island, owned by the group, near Marseilles. Pernod Ricard which produces brands such as Beefeater Gin, Jamesons and Jacobs Creek now have recruited a further fifteen fully branded Beefeater cabs which will be working in London until October 2008.
